FAQs & feedback
Frequently asked questions
How do I join the academy?
Start the Registration guide, choose who is joining, and open the official form in the Membership step. Follow its verification and payment instructions. Ask the academy if you need help.
Does creating a play account make me an academy member?
No. A play account only lets you use computer and online games on this website. Academy membership is handled separately through the official membership form.
What are the fees and training times?
Contact the academy for confirmed fees, coaching availability and session times. The supplied membership form says fees are presented at checkout; no unconfirmed prices are listed here.
Do I have to agree to photographs or videos?
Photo/video consent is handled separately. Read the supplied consent form and make your choices there. Parents/guardians complete one form per child; permission to identify a child by name is separate.
Can I change photo/video consent later?
The form says you may change or withdraw consent by notifying the club in writing. The club will stop future use and remove images where it can, but cannot recall material already printed or shared by others. Use the Contact page to reach the academy.
How do notifications work?
Enable notifications on Registration or Events if you want browser updates. You can disable them there or in browser settings. Form submissions do not automatically send push notifications. Browser support and HTTPS are required.
Do I need to log in to play chess?
Yes, both computer games and online matchmaking require a play account. The daily puzzle is available without login. Online play needs another signed-in person searching at the same time.
What happens when I leave an online game?
Leaving, signing out or disconnecting ends the live game. Games are untimed and cannot be resumed after a server restart. This is casual practice, not rated tournament play.
Is the computer Stockfish?
No. It is a simple beginner practice opponent that follows legal chess moves. It is not a full-strength chess engine.
What should I include in feedback?
Share suggestions, questions or website issues. Avoid passwords, payment details, sensitive personal information and children’s full names. For a direct reply, use the Contact page; feedback is private and does not collect an email address.
What if I forget my play password?
Automatic password recovery is not yet available. Contact the academy for assistance; never send your password in feedback or a Google Form.
